Readings in, at the tank

An operator logs a tank level or a cylinder weight in about ten seconds, standing at the tank, on a keypad sized for gloved hands.

No signal in the chemical building? The reading is saved on the phone and syncs as soon as there’s a connection. Each reading updates that chemical’s forecast right away.

Each tank keeps its real shape, so an inch on the gauge is the right number of gallons at any height. Racks of 150 lb and 2,000 lb cylinders are weighed position by position.

Tags at the tanks

Tags are optional: tag every tank, a few, or none. Stick an NFC tag by a sight glass or scale, and tapping it opens that tank in Log. The reading saved within 15 minutes is marked Tapped.

A tank with no tag is logged the same way as always, with no mark. On a tagged tank, a reading saved without a tap is marked No tap, with the operator’s reason if your plant asks for one. A reading is never refused.

The mark shows only that the phone touched that tank’s tag shortly before the reading was saved. It doesn’t check the number, and the app tells you that.

Reports › Rounds shows a supervisor each day’s readings in the order they were taken, with their marks. It points out readings that look copied, rushed or filled in late, with or without tags.

A forecast you can trace

Every reading updates how fast the chemical is being used, based on the hours that passed between readings. Two readings 33 hours apart count as 33 hours of use.

That rate gives the days until the tank runs out, the date to order by, and how much to order. Tap the ? beside any figure to see the math worked through in your own numbers.

Readings set the rate. The forecast runs it forward to the order-by level, in amber, and on to empty.

The quantity and delivery date are already worked out from the forecast, with the PO number and the delivery window beside them.

Place order without email logs the order and sends nothing, and the reorder alert goes quiet. Place order & email vendor opens your own mail app with the order written out. You decide whether to send it.

When the delivery comes, it is logged against the order, and on Team against the chemical’s budget for the year.

ChemLevel’s part ends at your mail app. The dashed line is yours. The order goes to the vendor only when a person presses Send.

The whole plant on one screen

Open the same plant in any browser, in the office or on a screen in the control room. The Chemicals tab’s Control room view shows every chemical’s gauge and current level, days until empty, and when to order or when the delivery is due. It fills whatever screen it’s on.

Every plant, one account. Each plant keeps its own chemicals, thresholds, vendors and budgets, and a person can be limited to the plants they work at.
Roles that match the job. Operators log readings, supervisors set up chemicals and budgets, and administrators run the roster and billing. Seeing costs is a separate permission.
Days of storage. Each chemical’s days on hand, against the days your state requires.
Maintenance, flagged where it happens. A problem flagged from its chemical opens an email to the site’s maintenance contact in your own mail app.

Common questions

Is there a free trial?: Yes. You get 15 days when you create your organization, with no credit card. Nothing is charged automatically. When the trial ends you pick a plan, or the account becomes read-only. Everything recorded stays readable, nothing new can be saved, and the account is deleted if 30 days pass without a plan.
Does ChemLevel place orders by itself?: No. It drafts the order with the quantity, vendor and delivery window. A person reviews it and decides whether to send it.
Does it work without signal?: Yes. A reading logged with no signal is saved on the device and syncs as soon as there’s a connection.
Is our data secure?: It’s hosted in the United States and encrypted at rest and in transit. The database keeps each organization’s data separate. The Security page lists what is in place and what isn’t yet.
